Cape Cod Walking Trails

Cape Cod is famous for many things: its quaint inns, fabulous seafood restaurants, bounty of antique shops, gorgeous white-sandy beaches, charming storefronts, pristine golf courses, and of course, we can’t forget to mention, the biking and walking trails.

Simply put, one of the best ways to see Cape Cod is on foot. There are more than 100 public walking trails throughout the 15 towns on Cape Cod, each with something different to offer. Some are seaside, others carve out state parks and conservation land, and a few even run through beautiful gardens and museum grounds. Most are free, but some do require a small fee so be sure to take that into account when you plan out your trail.

Located on lower Cape Cod, one of the most accessible to the Old Manse Inn, is Nickerson State Park off of Route 6A. Sights include almost 2,000 acres of paved and dirt trails through woods and along eight freshwater kettle ponds. While you are there, you can go swimming, fish or even have a picnic. There is also a motor boat and canoe launch for maritime excursions.

Make your lodging arrangements at one of the Classic Inns of Historic Cape Cod Bay, to ensure you will have a lovely place to rest and relax after your walk.

Regardless of which town you live in or are planning on travelling to, each has its own set of trails that have something unique and special to offer. So what are you waiting for? Cape Cod awaits you.
